At Windwerk, the focus is on flying, but you can also hold conferences, seminars and workshops with us, where we will provide you with catering.
The shared experience of indoor skydiving is an excellent team-building activity as part of a company event.
A challenge that is mastered together has positive effects on the whole team: it promotes cooperation, optimizes the teamwork skills of each individual employee and increases the team spirit and cohesion of colleagues.
People who work with people with whom they have a good relationship are happier at work and perform better.

Thomas Zahnd from My Online Marketing and Moritz Ness from blueDOM told us about their team event with us.

Why did you choose the Windwerk for your company event?

Thomas: We chose the Windwerk for our event because it evokes strong emotions and offers an unusual “out-of-the-comfort-zone” experience.
We held a quarterly meeting beforehand and combined this with the indoor skydiving experience afterwards under the motto “Take off together”.

Moritz: We heard about the wind tunnel from acquaintances and knew that there was a meeting room – that was an essential deciding factor.
In general, we always want to combine our team events with a bit of collaborative and relaxed work – workshop-style.
We thought that Windwerk would be a good place to do this and got in touch with Molly from Event Management.
She explained to us how everything works, what we can do and what individual requests are possible.
Then everything went very quickly and smoothly.

Going into the wind tunnel costs many people a lot of effort.
What’s more, some fear that they might embarrass themselves – especially in front of colleagues and superiors.
What experiences have you had with your team in this regard?

Thomas: In my experience, the wind tunnel was a challenge, but our team encouraged and cheered each other on.
If someone didn’t manage their first flight, they were given helpful tips and words of encouragement.
We laughed together, which lightened the atmosphere and quickly dispelled any fears of making a fool of ourselves.
It strengthened our bond.

Moritz: That was also our biggest fear.
Is the event only suitable for younger colleagues?
But these worries were unfounded for two reasons.
Firstly, no one is forced to fly.
Those who prefer to watch their colleagues have a lot of fun and can take funny photos.
The experience can be recapped together later.
Secondly, the people in Customer Service and the instructors in particular are engaging and empathetic at the same time.
A few colleagues in the team were unsure whether they wanted to fly.
The instructor first explained what it feels like in the wind tunnel and how to behave correctly.
He took the time to answer all the questions and motivated some of the hesitant ones to give it a try – they didn’t regret it.
Of course, it helps if the team is open and has good vibes with each other in order to have such an exceptional experience together.
But I also believe that teams that don’t (yet) have that can get a step closer by flying together!
Even if everyone flies on their own – in the wind tunnel there is still togetherness.

What influence did this extraordinary shared experience have on your team?

Thomas: We are still talking about this special experience and, remarkably, our new team members are also aware of it.
It’s not every day that a team event leaves such a lasting impression.
😌

Moritz: Right after the flight, everyone was totally hyped and full of adrenaline.
What’s more, the workshop before our flight in the well-equipped meeting room was really productive and laid the foundations for a great team event.
Of course, it’s not easy to attribute the real impact on team spirit to one day or one shared situation, but some running gags and funny videos are still part of meetings or email attachments to this day
😉!

In the You can not only fly at Windwerk, but also hold meetings including catering.
Have you taken advantage of these offers?

Thomas: Yes, we took advantage of these offers.
The catering was top-notch and was an important component to round off the event.
It also gave us the opportunity to exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere and discuss flying tips together, which made the experience even more enriching.

Moritz: Yes, we used the catering and enjoyed several delicious, beautifully presented platters of Swiss specialties.
Really very good and just right for the day.

Hand on heart: Is there anything missing or could we do something better?

Thomas: Not really a criticism of you, more a tip for other companies.
We booked two flights for everyone.
At the next event, I would make sure that all participants can fly at least three times.
The first flight is for acclimatization, the second to build up safety and the third allows participants to fully enjoy the experience.

Moritz: During the planning stage, we mentioned the lack of vegetarian/vegan alternatives.
I saw in the brochure that they’ve really upped the ante here!
Even for those who don’t fly, a visit to the Windwerk is a real highlight.
There were also options that we hadn’t even considered before, such as the table football and VR simulator.
the table football and the VR simulator.

We would like to thank Thomas and Moritz for taking the time to answer our questions.
